E. A. Conway Medical Center is a modern, tertiary care facility that provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services. Since originally opening in 1941, Conway has emerged as a leading provider of medical care in Louisiana's twelve northeastern parishes.

As part of the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, and through the opportunities created by a large service population (approximately 350,000), Conway has developed into one of the best equipped, staffed and administered hospitals in northeast Louisiana. It is licensed for 247 beds, including an Intensive Care Unit, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and an inpatient unit for acute psychiatric care. Inpatient services include Family Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry.

A new $41 million hospital facility was completed and opened in May 1987. It provides a modern, attractive environment in which to provide patient care and to train residents.

Outpatient visits exceed 150,000 per year.

ER visits exceed 37,000 per year.

Medicine and Pediatric admissions exceed 6,300 per year.

Obstetric deliveries exceed 1,200 per year.

Surgical Operations exceed 3,800 per year.

Family Medicine Clinic visits exceed 16,000 per year.
