Salaries and Benefits:
Salaries are set annually by the Louisiana Legislature and are identical throughout the State. Residents are insured by act of legislature (in-house only). Hospitalization and life insurance are available. On-call rooms are provided; laundry is limited to white coats.
Vacation: PGYI = 3 weeks, PGY II & III = 4 weeks CME: PGY 1 & 2 are provided $1300 per year in CME Funds/Textbook funds which may be used for textbooks, travel, lodging and/or conference registration fees. An additional CME Bonus of $500 will be awarded to any resident scoring at the 75th percentile or above on the annual ABFP In-Training Examination. PGY 3 are provided with $1500 per year—CME/Textbook fund. Parking: Convenient parking facilities are provided to all resident physicians at the hospital at no charge. Liscense Fees: Louisiana State Medical License fees are paid for all residents. Membership Dues: Membership dues are paid for all residents to the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians and the Ouachita Parish Medical Society.
