Applications:

For U.S. graduates of U.S. Medical Schools to be eligible for acceptance into the EACMC Family Practice Residency Program, an applicant must be a graduate of a fully accredited  medical school and be eligible for licensure or a training permit in the State of Louisiana and have passed parts I and II of the USMLE. The National Resident Matching Program is used for first-year positions.

International graduates must have graduated from an approved medical school and passed parts I and II of the USMLE. Passage of part III is strongly encouraged. International graduates must be eligible for a medical license or training permit in the state of Louisiana.  We sponsor J1, but not H1, visas. Applications will be reviewed prior to granting an interview.

We are an ERAS participating program and take all applications on ERAS.. Those wishing further information on ERAS (the Electronic Residency Application Service) may wish to view the pages at: http://www.aamc.org/students/eras/start.htm/ . Additional information and assistance with ERAS is usually available through the Dean's Office of the Student's Medical School.

Interview visits should be preceded by submission of a completed ERAS application , including recent photograph, Dean's letter with medical school transcript, resume, biographical sketch, and three letters of recommendation, including one which must be from your Program Director if you are now or have ever been in a US Residency. Our deadline for application is December 1, 2007. Interviews are by appointment and are scheduled on weekdays only. A full day is planned, and spouses are encouraged to accompany the applicants. Interviews should be accomplished before February 15.
